Our Mission is to assist every student with autism to be equipped and able to achieve academic, social, and behavioral excellence in an environment centered on strong character values.
After struggling to find a school that fit our children's needs, we decided to create one for them. The Buzzing Hive Learning Academy was built on the principle that all children deserve a fair chance at an education that fits THEIR needs, rather than fitting the child to meet the schools needs. This means we have smaller class sizes. We offer frequent breaks, while still providing a full curriculum. Contact us today to hear more.
Commonly Asked Questions
How is Our School Different?
As a family owned private school we understand the struggles that families face and we want to make it easier on familes to get an education everyone should be entitled to. In order to accomplish this we are ESA funded and work with each family to customize what their family needs to be successful.
What Methods are Used for Instruction?
If you lined up 10 children that are the same age, they would all perform differently, so with that same mindset our teachers use a variety of teaching methods, including IXL, RAZ Kids, Prodigy, workbooks, and small group interactive time. We meet each student where they are. By keeping our class sizes low we can ensure the kind of one-on-one time needed to develop a successful plan that works for each student utilizing a variety of educational tools and systems.
Will My Student Get Frequent Breaks?
We understand that most of our students need gentle interaction that is less demanding than traditional schools. While we will always strive to see the best out of all of our students, our staff is trained in behavior management and will offer breaks as needed.
What Made Us Open This School?
We are family owned. We have 6 children of our own, 5 with autism. After working in schools for years, while struggling to find a school capable of managing our children's needs we decided that WE would be that school. All students deserve to be seen, heard, and acknowledged. All students should have a curriculum based on their needs. All students deserve the opportunity to learn.
